How to read this simulation

For a ≠ 0, D = b² − 4ac. D > 0 gives two real roots, D = 0 a repeated real root, and D < 0 complex conjugates. Vertex: (−b / 2a, −D / 4a). Real roots appear on the x-axis; complex roots do not.

When a = 0, bx + c = 0 is solved instead. If a = b = 0, c = 0 has every real number as a solution; otherwise there is no solution. Displayed values are rounded; calculations use full available precision.
